God uses special revelation when he reveals himself directly and in greater detail. God has done this through (1) direct acts, (2) dreams and visions, (3) Christ’s incarnation, and (4) Scripture. God has revealed himself by direct acts at various times and in varied ways throughout redemptive history (Heb. 1:1). He spoke directly with Adam in the garden of Eden (Gen. 2:16–17; 3:9, 11). He addressed the nation of Israel audibly at Sinai (Deut. 5:4). He spoke to Moses personally
